    Krzysztof Kowalczyk

    Founder and Managing Partner of UBIK Business Consulting, specializes in the strategic management and technology startups. Graduated from Warsaw School of Economics (Management of Information Systems, 2001). He holds CEMS Master’s Degree in International Management from Community of European Management Schools (2001) and additional degree in German Studies in Economics (Deutsch- Polnisches Akademiker Forum, in cooperation with University of Duisburg and University of Mainz).

    Professional experience includes E.piphany CRM package implementation in Procter&Gamble divisions in Great Britain and USA (2000), co-managing Internet start-up (System Internet Provider, 2000), introducing Lycos Europe portal to polish market as Head of Content and Technology (Lycos Poland, 2001) and being a management consultant with McKinsey&Company (2003-2004).

    In the years 2001-2008 Krzysztof Kowalczyk was an assistant professor in Warsaw School of Economics' Faculty of Business Informatics and lecturer in Warsaw Executive MBA and CEMS (Community of European Management Schools - Master in International Management) programs.

    Member of Polish Professional Informatics Society (PTI), Academic Business Informatics Society (NTIE), Mensa Poland and founding member of Internet Society (ISOC) Poland. As a member of Polish Information Processing Society one of the PIPS appraisers organized in Chamber of Appraisers and accredited examiner of European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) and ECDL-Advanced.

    In 2007 co-founded leading polish startup scene meetups, Aula Polska.

  • Piotr Sienkiewicz

    Piotr Sienkiewicz

    Advisor to the Board, joined UBIK BC in 2008, specializes in software-based innovation and startup venturing. He is a graduate of the University of Warsaw, Faculty of Physics, MSc in Solid State Physics, and of the faculty of Computer Science, Numerical Ananlysis Dept. He also holds an MBA from the Carlsson School of Management at University of Minnesota (2000).

    In 1990 he co-founded MSP, one of the largest Polish computer wholesalers, and was member of the board. The company was almost single-handedly responsible for creating the software market in Poland.

    In 1994 he was one of the key persons in negotiating and preparing the merge with a Czech distributor. The merged company becomes a leading distributor in Eastern Europe. In 1995 member of committee preparing the acquisition of a Hungarian distributor.

    In 1994 he co-founded Polska OnLine, the leading ISP, with Esther Dyson and Dan Lynch among the founders. He joined the management team as CEO. There he lead the acquisition of a software developer and closed a VC investment. After leading a number of contacts and due diligence procedures with telcos and other potential shareholders, he finalized an agreement whereby a polish system integrator purchased shares and become a majority shareholder.

    He was involved, as an investor, in the polish solid state Blue Laser project.

    His main passion is windsurfing – freestyle and wave-sailing, with tennis and skiing close seconds.
  • Wiesław Grochowski

    Wiesław Grochowski

    Partner, Automotive Market Consulting Graduate of Warsaw University of Technology (Faculty of Electrical Engineering) – he specializes in automotive market and telematics.

    Professional experience includes the advertising and marketing, trade, modernization and expansion of businesses. From 1990 until now occupies the positions of directors of marketing and advertising. Since 1995 has its own advertising agency. He dedicated last 3 years to develop products to monitor the phenomena involved in the process of communication and transport based on the use of modern technologies in the field of telemetry and telematics.

    He is a member of Rotary International where he takes an active part in the organization of large charities balls. In 2005 in the Polish Olympic Center he has established a new Rotary Club "Warszawa Żoliborz" that supports disabled athletes.

    Hobbies include photography from his journeys (he issued three calendars). He actively cultivates Tennis, Cross & Mountain biking, alpine skiing and swimming. Passively - snowboarding, windsurfing, volleyball and bridge.

    Piotr Waglowski

    Advisor to the Board University of Warsaw graduate (Faculty of Law and Administration). He completed doctoral studies at the Instytut Nauk Prawnych - Faculty of Social Sciences Academy of Sciences. Currently he is preparing his doctoral thesis.

    Since 1997 he's leading "Vagla.pl - Law and Internet" service, one of the best sources of information concerning law of new technologies in Poland. Professional experience includes the creation of online bookstores as a consultant for e-business MUZA S.A. publishing house (1998-2000); Director of Marketing position in 3W Internet Marketing company which owns Portfel.pl portal (2000-2001); the Deputy Director position in Wprost Online, a website maintained by the Wprost publishing-advertising agency (2001-2002); acting as the Chief Consultant in The Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications (PIIT) (2002-2005). In 2006-2007, member of the Council of Informatization in Ministry of Interior and Administration.

    Founder Member of Internet Society (ISOC) Poland, a member of its Executive Board in 2001-2006.

    He received the title of the Internet Citizen of the Year 2001. In November 2005 he was awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit conferred by the President of the Republic of Poland for contribution to the development of IT in Poland.
  • Adam Gnabasik

    Adam Gnabasik

    Partner (prolonged, health-related absence) Partner, dealing with issues of strategic management and finance. He has an MBA of the University of Minnesota in 2002, obtained in the SGH and Carlson School of Management WEMBA program. In 1985-1991 he received a master's degree in chemistry at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and has completed doctoral studies in the field of molecular spectroscopy. For many years associated with the ICT, financial and capital market – he managed several large projects for both government and private investors. With UBIK Business Consulting since 2007.
